People in America's heartland worry the coastal elites and global markets are leaving behind manufacturing, family farming, and other respectable working-class occupations. Trump promises to push back, and for all his problems, some see him as their best hope for a brighter future. The left is concerned with inequality, but their proposals focus on the poorer and further away, and their helps may stifle independence and growth.
Some may blame technology, but technology is a tool, not a villain. People hold actual power.
