The Passenger Pigeon

TrYing to compose these on my phone is very annoying
Finished a book on the passenger pigeon. The attached photo is one of the only in existence. The bird is estimated to have numbered in the billions and may have been the most numerous bird on earth. They were very social and formed huge flocks and nesting communities. But like the bison, in the later part of the 1800's, money could be made in killing them. The last died in captivity in 1914.
