The Little Colonel in Arizona
Annie Fellows Johnston
'Car broke, but made it to work by bus. Listened to something simple today, something I downloaded with my collection of books with Arizona in the title for my trip two months ago -- The Little Colonel in Arizona. Apparently part of a very popular series around the turn of the century -- in case you're, like, 130 years old and remember that. The book was about a family trying to adjust to having moved to Arizona to an invalid camp to try to improve the mother's health. The idea back then was cold or damp climates were injurious. Persists today in people worrying you'll 'catch a cold.' But anyway, a nice little story.
