American Big-Game Hunting: The Book of the Boone and Crockett Club
Finished American Big-Game Hunting: The Book of the Boone and Crockett Club (c. 1893). Mostly stories of big game hunts by those who have killed enough animals to be worthy of membership in the organization.
Now, I notice an interesting field of hunting ethics. The Boone and Crockett Club required respectable hunters allow 'fair chase' -- that animals have a reasonable probability of escape. Now, part of me asks, "how can it be fair if the animal is not as armed and capable as the hunter?" but I suppose that level of fairness is for another kind of sport -- war.
