Notes and Reflections on Books and Media
by Hannah Leitheiser
The weird thing about Steve Jobs is that he's just not a nice person, but somehow he gets people to crave his approval. He shows clear signs of narcissism and borderline personality disorder, and everyone near him knows it, but his techniques of manipulation continue to work in spite of other people's conscious awareness. Jobs also seems to gain self-awareness about his own behavior at times, but he doesn't seem to be able to stop.
It's an interesting story of how little people can have conscious control over how they respond.
