Sciurus niger

(fox squirrel)

Image Caption:
A fox squirrel eats a piece of ice he carried up a tree.  Although the squirrel has to use body heat to melt the ice, on cold days squirrels often eat ice or snow.  During winter, they have few other sources of moisture.
